FTA: "Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, went on the offensive this weekend, aggressively attacking Obama for his association to 1960s radical William Ayers, a move some see as part of a last-ditch attempt to revive a flagging campaign."

Don't believe that for a moment. Once the kitchen sink comes flying onto the political stage, it isn't long before the whole sewer system follows it. McCain just better be careful. You play around in the sewer long enough and you commence to stink.

How about another terrorist attack? Maybe that would reinvigorate John "Jump on the horse and ride off in every direction at once" McCain's flagging poll numbers. He sure was Mr. Erratic Leadership during the recent financial crisis.

WOW GEORGE....so McCain needs a terrorist attack to get elected. That is desperation. It's desperate too. Since McCain is inferring Obama is a terrorist I would say he has already proven he can't protect America. Who would allow a terrorist to run for President?! And on top of that have a nationally televised unconditional debate with him.

The noisy people seem to prefer the socialist.

We'll see what the quiet people think soon.

You repugnicrats will have to find something other than socialism to demonize, here with the total collapse of the unregulated unfetterd greed you call make the rich richer trickel down capatilism.

Republicans are incapable of governing, all they ever do is make the rich richer, and invent lies to sell it to the religious uneducated anti-abortion morons to get there vote.

Rove invented the model to destroy democracy, a creationist moron in chief to get the evangelical inbred tent revival snake handling moron vote on the same side as the 1% who own and control everything. Game over, economy over, start the war machine. Republican values 101.

Its over, the only thing that will change the Obama landslide and the Democratic veto proof majority in both houses is some right wing terrorist republican facist pulling a Kenedy, which McSenile is now encouraging at his hitler youth facist evangelical creationist ignorant warmongering fearmongering rallys.

John McCain may be in serious need of Mental Health Examinations?

McCain's thought process and decision making appears to be very disturbing to say the least. His choice of paylin a self proclaimed dog with lipstick is a little short of a JOKE.

John may have spent too much time in confinement along with the corruption as a Senator for 26 years..

McCain has a Very Bad temper and full of corruption, Not Good Foe America...

Wife Cindy 'Budwizer' self confessed Druggie is not what we need in America....

MaCain and wife Cindy need to go to the Happy Budwizer Farm and enjoy their life in super Wealth.... Enjoy...

I am surprised, with Rove advising behind the scenes, that this campaign has not gotten nastier sooner. The October surprise will probably be a lot of "Swift boat" type attacks of some sort. Palin is already ranting and raving about "domestic terrorists" in her stump speeches.
I like that the Obama campaign punches right back. Can't wait to hear more about trooper-gate!
This Ayers thing is a hoot. There was some right wing U.S. Representative from Tennessee on MSNBC who went down a list of bad things that Ayers did in the 1960's, and then she insisted that Obama should be made to answer for them. HUHHH!?!!
The desperation of the repugs is starting to show. Considering their history of contempt for democracy and the rule of law, their desperation may lead to some unsavory moments before Nov. 4th.
Kick'em out of office, then round the guilty ones up and throw them in jail.

We would have spared ourselves a LOT of grief if we had followed your recommendations for jailing the guilty much earlier.

Bush, McCain and the Old Iran-Contra Team

T he vetting of Sarah Palin for the McCain campaign by an Iran-Contra alumnus brought an epiphany. (See “ The Man Who Vetted Palin,” CounterPunch, September 8, 2008.) The American people’ s inability to control this crime spree we call the Bush administration is not because we’ re lazy, narcissistic or willfully blind to human rights violations, as much of the world now views us. It’ s because we’ ve been misidentifying this crime spree as “ the Bush administration.” What we’ re clearly confronting is the Iran-Contra Alumni Association masquerading as the Executive Branch, replete with domestic spying, dark ops, fake journalists, fake news reels, press intimidation, protester arrests, infiltration and torture. Their latest maneuver is the woman with zero foreign policy experience a heart beat from taking that 3 a.m. call. A call which, of course, they’ ll answer for her as they have done for Bush II.

So far the poll that seems to be most sensitive to the changes is the one called Hotline. When everyone had McCain leading, they flipped to Obama and were two days ahead of everyone else. Now while everyone has Obama way out in front, they've come down to a two-point lead. It may not be the blowout it appears to be at this point.
