Careers & Jobs – One of the most important, yet often overlooked, aspects of resume sending is the cover letter (or these days, the e-mail). The cover letter is your chance to make your first impression. A properly written letter should grab the employer's attention and help set the stage for a personal interview. Here's a simple guide to writing an effective cover letter :)
Nice. Back when I used to send out resumes and cover letters I would always add something to the effect of "I read your job description and it sounded like a perfect match for what I do."
One guy who hired me said I stood out because he felt like I was telling him he wrote a great job description and how no one understands how hard it is to write a great job description...like I was complimenting him.
As a manager for a office products distributer, I had to review and sort through quite a few resumes and cover letters in my time. I can assure you that a properly completed and informative cover letter meant a great deal to me. I hated those that were basically three liners that contained very limited info. Far to many people use a form letter as a cover letter...one size fits all. Not good at all!
and also there are a lot of possibilites to combine word for creating perfect paragraph of cover letter. I recently found a lot of sample at http://cover-letter-sample.org .
